Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about moving rows between Google Sheets with Dandelions.

Getting started

What does Dandelions do?

Dandelions copies rows from a source range in Google Sheets to a destination you choose. A transfer can run manually or on a schedule, and it can include every row or only rows that match your conditions.

How do I create a transfer?

Sign in with Google, choose New transfer, then enter the source spreadsheet, tab, and range. Choose a destination, select append or overwrite, preview the result, and save the transfer.

Why do I need to preview before saving?

The preview confirms that Dandelions can access both spreadsheets and shows which rows match your settings. It helps catch an incorrect range, tab, destination, or filter before data is written.

Running transfers

What is the difference between append and overwrite?

Append adds the matching rows after existing destination data. Overwrite replaces the output previously written by that transfer, starting at the destination cell you configured.

Which schedules are supported?

Transfers can run manually, hourly, every 6 hours, every 12 hours, daily, or weekly. Daily and weekly schedules use the timezone selected in the transfer settings.

What happens when several transfers use the same source?

When scheduled transfers run together and use the same Google account, spreadsheet, tab, and range, Dandelions reads that source once. It then applies each transfer’s filters independently and writes each result to its configured destination. This reduces unnecessary Google Sheets requests.

Can one failed transfer affect the others?

No. Every transfer keeps its own status and run history. A failed filter or destination write is recorded for that transfer without cancelling other transfers in the same scheduler cycle.

Ranges and filters

Can I transfer only certain rows?

Yes. Add up to ten conditions and choose whether rows must match all conditions or any condition. Available comparisons include equals, does not equal, contains, numeric greater or less than, and empty or non-empty.

Can I use an open-ended source range?

Yes. A range such as A2:H reads from row 2 through the available data in column H. You can also use a bounded range such as A2:H500.

What happens when no rows match?

The run is marked as failed with a “No rows matched” message, and nothing is written to the destination.

Access and privacy

Which spreadsheets can Dandelions access?

Dandelions can access spreadsheets available to the Google account you connected. It reads and writes only when validating, previewing, or running transfers that you configure.

Does Dandelions store my spreadsheet contents?

No stored copy of your spreadsheet contents is kept. Rows are processed to perform a preview or transfer. Dandelions stores your transfer settings and operational details such as run status, timing, and row and cell counts.

How can I revoke access?

You can revoke Dandelions from your Google Account permissions at any time. Scheduled transfers will stop working until Google access is restored.
